Laughter Yoga Experience
Rita is a presenter at the 2010 All American Laughter Yoga Conference.
Rita became a Certified Laughter Leader in 2000 when she attended the first Laughter Leader Training for the World Laughter Tour in Columbus, Ohio. In 2009, she became certified as a Laughter Yoga Leader by Dr. Kataria’s Laughter Yoga International in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Rita created the first laughter club in the state of Delaware. She has let laughter groups at private holiday parties, weddings, senior centers, community centers, businesses, women’s groups, schools and libraries. She is currently leading laughter sessions in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Current Focus
Rita is leading laughter groups and creating new applications for laughter
yoga in the Santa Fe area. Some of these applications include:
∞ Coping with learning disabilities.
∞ Educating Educators (teachers) on the value of laughter in the classroom.
∞ Enlivening youthful energy with Seniors.
∞ Techniques for reducing stress & fatigue for Professionals.
Education
B.A. degree in Education from Gwynedd Mercy University and has taught in both the public school system and the private arena. M.A. degree from Antioch University in Organizational Development.
Trained in the Bowen technique by the U.S. Bowen therapy Academy of Australia. Certified in Massage therapy from Balitmore Massage School.
Attended Mooseburger Clown Camp in Minnesota. She combined laughter and clowning to bring healing laughter to diverse groups.
Personal Statement
My gift of laughter keeps me sane. I choose to create my life through love, laughter and healing. My purpose in life is to honor my true self, the perfectly-imperfect light-hearted being that I am. And,most importantly sharing my journey with others to inspire them to live a more joyous life.
